That may or may not be true that “Dozens of nations” have gotten single payer right. But we’re talking about America – See Soc Sec Adm, Medicare, Medicaid, etc. Pictures of inefficiency. So you see, it doesnt matter what other countries have done. Thats apples and oranges unless youre going to invite them in to run ours too? Is that what you’d propose? Also, I was in the military and thats as close to socialized medicine as I ever want to get. Did you serve, cuz you have to know what i mean

im not even going to argue with you. government is the problem. but beyond just the healthcare issue, i dont want the government to have anymore power over my life.
I agree our system does need fixed, starting with interstate competition and tort reform. But the Fed govt cant run something as large as our system with any type of efficiency. That’s naive. I’ve been in the military where the govt supplied my healthcare and it was no where near private industry standards. I used to literally wait for hours. Plus, where’s the money to run it coming from? BTW ease up on that ‘decent people’ talk, we all want the same thing here, improved care for everyone.
Getting “government” out means no oversight, thousands already are dying and you want far, far more to die all so big business can hoard more wealth. That’s not what any decent human being thinks needs to be done.

This health care “reform” of Obama’s is the best friend big business ever had, it’s an absurd lie to call it “socialized medicine.” A single payer system would be GREAT for small business, eliminating one of their biggest costs, health insurance, and it would save thousands of lives. 40 milions US uninsured citizens and US bailed out economy really need a National Health Care (Single Payer) founded by progressive tax (not flat tax) on the capital gains.
We dont need more new taxes and a Nanny State. BO is crashing the dollar with cap+trade, new taxes across the board, and chasing whats left of industry offshore. Socialized medicine puts us at the mercy of the Fed govt to do with as it wishes. Why isnt BO cutting tax breaks for corps that off shore jobs, imposing tariffs on imported goods, and cutting tax on small business. Oh, because that would heal our free market economy which he hates. BO wants to see our country fail, its obvious.

People prefer their existing health insurance because they do not understand what a single payer system is. The issue is very complex and can’t be readily articulated. For this reason, opponents of the single payer system can easily use scare tactics and misrepresent what it is. If someone could actually explain in detail how a single payer system would work, there would be more support for it. Reforming health care is not like gaining civil rights. The issue is not so clear to people.
Pzifer just got a 2.7 billion fine, for fraud, you want more of the private sector?
They will pass the bill on to americans, you will be the ones paying the 2.7 bil. Who else can they turn to? Who else can YOU turn to? they have a strangle hold on you, you have the worst care, for the most money, 8% in Europe, 16.9% here, the difference is, you die earier! Cobra is very expensive. Remember for some, it was a benefit that was much cheaper or even ‘free’ when they held their job. It might work to AUTOMATICALLY be enrolled in the EXISITING public aid program when fired and have Cobra as an OPTION. If you want to pay and have the ability to pay for this interim insurance then go ahead. We have wonderful ’state of the art ‘ not for profit clinics in existance presently for the poor. Why not expand enrollment to more ?
The US has the best health-care in the world, best modern treatments in medicine and surgeries. Canada’s HC system is on the verge of “imploding”. The incoming president of the Canadian Medical Association says this countrys health-care system is sick. Canada is in the process of switching back to Private Care.
Actually, it is the law that Cobra be offered to you when you lose your job or quit unless (you lost it for just cause–as in stealing from your employer, violence, drug use, etc.) It is the law that your employer provide you witht he opportunity for COBRA and you are allowed 18 months to keep it unless you are disable, then it is 27 months.
